I will be traveling with another woman in London in a few months and want to check on the safety of the area in which we may stay. The Beauchamp Hotel on Bedford Place in Bloomsbury. Any known issues there? Also are breakfast spots plentiful in the area? Many thanks.
Don't know that particular hotel, but that area is my favourite in London. Breakfast can be a hard find sometimes if your hotel doesn't offer it. Most do.
London is a very safe city. My last two trips to London has been with my friend (another woman, our husbands stayed home) we walked all over London never had a problem, didn’t even cross our minds. We always go to the theatre, we take the tube to the nearest station then walk back to the hotel.
I've stayed one street over from your hotel and felt very safe in that neighborhood. I would gladly stay in the Bloomsbury neighborhood and have Holborn be my Tube stop for each visit to London. In looking on your hotel's website it says that breakfast and wifi are included (unless you made some other booking arrangement). Enjoy!
I appreciate the replies re the safety of Bloomsbury. Sounds like I've found my area in which to stay! Please share the names of any hotels in the area where you've stayed and liked. Breakfast, wifi, a/c, 2 beds and "en-suite" private bath are my needs. Haven't booked one yet but getting close!
Bloomsbury is a fantastic neighborhood in London - my son is living there during the academic year come September and I'm totally comfortable with it. Very "classic" London with beautiful restaurants and shops. British Museum is right in it's heart. You'll enjoy it there. As far as breakfast spots...breakfast can be had in the more touristy areas. I'm sure you'll find something. Generally speaking, breakfast isn't really a thing in much of Europe but you'll find a full-English in some places where tourists flock.
