Bedford Hotel in Bloomsbury area to Westminster Abbey

I've read where it would take about 1/2 hour to walk to the Abbey from my hotel. I've also seen many different routes using the tube which would seem to take longer. What would be the better way to get to the Abbey on Bank Holiday, August 25 and which tube route would be the best. Thank you.

Confused.

You’ve already been given answers regarding directions to the Abbey via the tube and by bus.

To clarify my question-what would be the best way to get from Bedford Hotel in Bloomsbury to Westminster Abbey using the Tube? Also, would it be faster to just walk to the Abbey.

Walking certainly isn't the fastest.
As for the Tower the easiest is probably the bus- in this case the #91 to Charing Cross, changing there for any of the buses down Whitehall.
With the hopper fare it is a free transfer.
And you see London on the way.

Pamela, I agree with isn31c. The easiest way to get to Westminster Abbey would be to walk from your hotel (south on Southampton Row) to the Southampton Road/Theobald's Road (Stop X). Catch the 91 bus from there (the one to Charing Cross).

From there it's a 17 minute (approx) bus ride to the Whitehall / Trafalgar Square stop (Stop N). It will be the 6th stop. Once you get there, get off the bus and start walking south down Whitehall (in the same direction the bus was coming from). You will walk for about 10 minutes and soon you will see Westminster Abbey. I would allow 30 minutes at least to get there, but would plan for extra time just in case.

Technically you could walk it in 35-40 minutes (it's about 2 miles) but it will be tired, unless you are used to city walking and if it were me, I would want to save my energy for walking through Westminster Abbey. :-)

As mentioned in your other post, either download the Citymapper app or use Google Maps on your phone to get precise, real travel times and directions.

It will greatly improve your time in London.

And your asking about a date over 2 months away. There is always a possibility of disruption of service for a variety of reasons. It's best to check closer to your travel date.
