Bed sizes at Premier Inn Paddington

We are looking to book a 12 night stay in November 2025. We are concerned about bed sizes! Is a "Double Bed" equal to a US Queen size?

Has anyone stayed at Premier Inn Paddington that has had a King size bed?

We contacted Premier Inns two weeks ago, but have not received a reply.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Good luck trying to get a reply from the Premier Inn. They keep their prices low by limiting personal contact.

In terms of size, the ones I've been in were closer to a standard size, although I never measured it. Actually if you look at their websites, they mostly list the "standard/double" bed. I don't think I've ever seen a king size bed in a PI, but I've also never asked for one. I would imagine they have both sizes, so I would ask for one if that is a concern when you book.

FWIW, their beds are very comfortable!

ETA: I just looked at their website where they sell their mattresses, and the size of the double is equal to an American double. But that doesn't mean you can't book a larger size. https://www.premierinnbed.co.uk/premier-inn-mattress.html

A double bed will sleep two people. It is NOT equivalent to a Queen bed in the USA. It’s more like a full size bed. The two sizes are almost identical.

My husband and I always had a full size bed in the US, and we have a double here. But most folks of any size prefer a Queen. I think you can book a room with a King bed at a PI.

The website shows only doubles and twins. You can use booking.com to search for queen and king beds. I don't generally use booking.com for reservations at independent hotels, but it's a good source of information. Double check with the hotel's website. There are lots of hotels around Paddington. Some of them are bound to have big beds. Good luck!

I find their beds are normally 150 cm.
They now have some "plus" rooms with king size, 180 cm.

Had a Double Bed at the Premier Inn in Southampton and the bed felt small. Smaller than a US Queen. Would rather have a room with 2 twin beds (either separate or pushed together to make a "King").

The UK King size that Lin is referring to is roughly like a US Queen

I’ve stayed at Paddington Premier Inn with my sister. We had a “twin” room. This is a full size bed plus a twin size bed . The twin size is a day bed. I slept on it and was entirely comfortable. I think a room like this would solve any of your bed space worries.

Currently staying at this very hotel. The doubles are US full size, the site lets you book a twin room but the hotel has no twin rooms and it will be switched to a room with a double + twin as Carol states. Manager confirmed that the site allows the booking but that there is a small asterisk indicating the room won’t be available. Overall, the hotel is still new feeling, clean and a great location. Staff has been hit or miss. The beds we’ve had are not supportive/comfortable. The Wi-Fi is just terrible - hotel staff even mentioned when we checked in that it can drop due to the proximity of Paddington Station.

Does the PI Paddington offer ”Premier Plus” rooms?
The PI website states,

What’s the difference between a Standard room and a Premier Plus room at Premier Inn?
Treat yourself to even more comfort, convenience and connectivity by choosing one of our Premier Plus rooms. Our enhanced rooms are perfect for business trips and special occasions – or whenever you fancy a little more from your stay. As well as a super-comfy kingsize bed, enjoy extra amenities like an improved workspace and vanity area. Plus, a luxurious rainfall shower and faster Wi-Fi!

Hi Diana,
We stayed at the PI Paddington Station in Oct 2024. The room had a nicely sized “double” bed that I slept on. My adult daughter slept on a single (that I assume could be a sofa) that was very satisfactory and she slept well each night. My bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on during a vacation. I personally think two adults could sleep on it. It seemed like its dimensions were a bit smaller than a queen but larger than a US full. We loved this hotel. It was spotless. The staff were helpful and although the dining area was under an emergency water situation which prevented us from eating there, everything else was perfect. Hope this helps.
