bed and breakfast in Bedford, not air, reasonably priced - 60-75 pounds or less. near city center

I'll be traveling to Bedford England in October and would like recommendations for a bed and breakfast that is near the city center. My conference is at 2 St. Mary's Street.

Thanks,

Frank

The conference organizer does not have suggestions for lodging for its attendees?

Go to TripAdvisor, enter Bedford, England, then select hotels and filter on B&Bs and Inns. There are 19 listed for Bedford, and a few for other nearby towns. That will give you an idea of what’s available.

It’s really easy to google.......just type in B&Bs in Bedford and a list of names will appear. I’ve found so many B&Bs that way, Abdul they have always been great.

Thanks. I am so use to seeing recommendations from Rick Steves that I am spoiled. I could not find recommendations for Bedford in his travel guide. I'll follow up on some of your suggestions.

Good advice above.

If you are coming by train be advised that Bedford has two train stations - Bedford St Johns which is on the branch line between Bedford and Bletchley and the service is less frequent, and Bedford (formerly known as Bedford Midland Road) which is on the main line from Sheffield and Nottingham to London St Pancras station. Just don't wind up where you don't intend.

Have a walk along the river going through the centre of Bedford. It is The Great Ouse - pronounced ooze. Quite scenic.

The riverside path goes right past your venue.

Sorry, your budget is for a chain hotel such as Premier Inn, not a B& B in southern England, where prices are likely to start at £85 per night. Any wriggle room with your budget?

Perhaps the conference organisers could suggest some options?
