My hubby and I are planning a last minute trip to London. He wants to see the Cliffs one day. Not sure which place is better to visit for pictures. Also are either of these places easier to get to from London? Can you get there by train? Are they far from the train station? First time visit to England. Thanks!
Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters are gorgeous. They're used a lot as filming locations as they're so pretty and iconic.
You can easily take a train to either Eastbourne or Brighton and then the coastal bus (12x) takes about an hour-ish to travel between them.
If you start in Brighton, you could also visit the Royal Pavilion, and go for a wander around The Lanes for a bit of lovely old style shopping.
The bus towards Eastbourne gives you a better vantage point, or if time is short, stay in Brighton, walk out on the pier, and you'll see the Seven Sisters in the distance in the east.
It's easier seeing the cliffs at Beachy Head than at Dover, where they are best viewed from our at sea. Dover is a pain to get to at present with rail engineering works rebuilding the sea wall. The only thing worth seeing in Dover is the castle and the tunnels, as the town centre is awful.
Beachy Head is a notorious suicide blackspot, so if you hang around too long you might get people coming up to you to check you're OK.
Thank you! We decided to take a day trip from London to Seven Sisters! I appreciate all of your comments!
