For years Vancouver Studios was my go to. Make note no elevator. I’d stay there again.

Then upon recommendation from a friend tried and loved 63 Bayswater. Small but well appointed single rooms and breakfast is included in the price. 15 minute walk from Paddington Station. 5 minute to Lancaster Gate tube station.

Last stay 2020. Room 207. There’s an elevator and I loved discovering the nearby Tudkin restaurant. Also having coffee at Stella’s, lunch and a pint at The Mitre Paddington. On the 2020 stay discovered and enjoyed dinner at the Victoria Paddington pub. What’s also great about 63 is you are right across the road from the Lancaster Gate entrance ( opens at 5am ) to Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens. If you follow the path past the Italian Gardens and along the Serpentine you’ll pass the Peter Pan Statute, Princess Diana Memorial Fountain and come to the Lido. Nice cafe and early AM you’ll find swimmers.

Honestly keep 63 a secret for years as I feared it being over run by Ricknicks . Gave up the ghost and know RS fans have stayed there.

I’m thankful to be staying with friends next month.

Thank you so much, Claudia. I will certainly look into 63. Also thank you for the food recommendations.

I stayed at the Hotel Caesar on Queen's Gardens, a lovely residential street with a greenbelt in the middle, very quiet, in 2018 and 2019. A 10 minute walk in either direction to Paddington and also Queensway, a high street with 2 tube stations and numerous restaurants, and Hyde Park was right there, too. Recent reviews indicate it's still a very popular hotel, and I did find the rooms, service and breakfast to be very good indeed. Helpful front desk. I returned to London this April and decided to stay again in the South Kensington neighborhood--now I am torn, because both areas seem to suit me perfectly.

No problem.

Really enjoyed discovering the Victoria Paddington. Gorgeous pub with etched glass. Lovely Sunday Roast. Nice staff and patrons.

Tudkin is small and has become very popular. Might need reservations.

Have a lovely trip to my favorite city on the planet.

Thank you Christa. Hotel Caesar would also be a good choice for us.

I asked a few of these hotels if they have self service laundry and they do not, but do have an outside service. Is that typical for London hotels?

Not sure if typical.

If you stay at one if the hotels in the Bayswater neighborhood try the Lancaster launderette on Craven Terrace.

Over the years have used it. Good breakfast there as well. At least there was pre covid lockdown.

Laundry and breakfast sounds like a perfect start to the day.

We will be disembarking a cruise in Greenwich. What transportation would be convenient to a Bayswater hotel? Convenience might be more important than cost as we will be dragging our bags. Thanks !!!
