I read this article this morning and thought the whole ”Bayeux mania” was just fascinating. It made me really glad that I saw the tapestry in Bayeux with no crowds or queues.

A friend had sent me the 2nd one and I thought it was very well done.
I've been lucky enough to see the tapestry on several occasions in Bayeux and every time I wished I had "more time". There is so much imagery in each panel you could spend a huge amount of time just looking at the birds, mythical beasts, symbols, etc in the borders! Plus looking at stuff like how the stitchers showed shadows with a darker blue thread on the horses' off legs. Wow.
One time, several years ago as I finished and was going to hand in my audio guide the desk staff told my group that there was no one else scheduled and we could go thru again if we wanted. What! Oh yes, let me at it, lol!
I hope everyone that wants to gets to view it.
