Bath to Cotswolds to London/ Car & Train

Travelling mid September with my sister and we are taking the train from London to Bath, staying a few days and then are heading to Cotswolds for a few nights. Thinking of renting an automatic in Bath so we can enjoy our drive to and around the Cotswolds. I’m a first time left side of the road and car driver. I’ve heard the roads are smaller type not major highways so happy about that.
Staying in Stow on the Wold and so would like to drop off car close to a railway station that we could hop on train back to London.
Do you have suggestions for towns that car rental companies allow a 1 way drop off to a different town than Bath?
What about using local buses vs car or hiring someone to drive us around although I think that would be way more costly.
Thanks!

Born when Truman was in office. Learned to drive a stick shift over Hiway 17 from Los Gatos to Santa Cruz. Still known as Blood Alley.

It should take all of a few minutes to adjust to driving on the opposite side of the road. Have done it on numerous trips to England. I’m also old school and take a paper map.

Be confident, get maximum insurance and off you go. Check with your regular rental car agency.
Mine is Hertz. Rented from them at Heathrow and Oxford, Cheltenham. DEFINTELY Check open and closed hours! Parking is a challenge. Seek out lots nearby town centers and hope for the best.

Enjoy your amble about the Cotswolds.
