Bath Thermae Spa

We are contemplating this after an all day Cotswold tour. We would arrive around 6:00pm. Not interested in spa treatments, just soaks and saunas, for Wednesday 3/27. Would this be relaxing after a long day, or just over crowded hell, with bathrobes? The cost is $36gbp for 3 hours per person..... thoughts? Experiences?

I've been there and LOVED it. I didn't use the spa services either. It's all part of experiential travel. :-)

Thanks Continental.... Can I ask what day of the week and time you went? Was it terribly crowded? According to their calendar, next week is still considered low season, so I am trying to remain optimistic.

It was on a Thursday in early September in the late afternoon a few years back. My husband had business in Frome and would meet me around 7 for the train to Paddington. I have no idea what the crowds will be like on March 27 but Thermae was busy when I was there but it didn't affect me.

I went in May, 2016. I didn't soak or sauna. I used both pools and had a massage. I didn't find it crowded at all.

The indoor pool is like a river with currents. The outdoor one is on the roof, has jacuzzi jets and a nice view. I enjoyed both.

The changing area is unisex. You go into a booth from one side, change, and go out the other side where you put your clothes in a locker. Bathrobes, slippers and towels are provided.

Very important -- cell phones (and everything else except the bathrobe and slippers and glasses if you wear them) must be left in the locker. There are signs, but some people apparently think the rules don't apply to them. They soon learn that the life guards are vigilant about this.
