We will be eating dinner in Bath 3 nights. Any recommendations? Thank you!

Pump Room Tea instead of dinner. It really has the atmosphere that I associate with Bath. One of my favorite experiences of our recent trip.

The Rustico Italiano and the Crescent (may be a bit expensive) were both very good.

Some might consider it too touristy because of the rather tenuous Jane Austen connection, but we had a good time at Sally Lunn's tea room (home of Sally Lunn's Bunns). Its certainly old and established. Maybe it's more of a lunch place, but worth a look. Near the Abbey & Roman baths.

We also liked Sally Lunn--had a very good vegetarian eggplant dish. At the time we were there they offered a tour of the kitchen.

This last time in Bath we were ready for some spicy food so wound up eating at Las Iguanas twice. It’s near the Royal Theatre.

Our tour group had the farewell meal at Woods which many enjoyed. YMMV.

I also ate at Antica on Pulteney Bridge and thought it was good.

The Real Italian Pizza Company, 16 York Street. Great wood-fired oven pizza, made from scratch, home made lasagna, spaghetti, salads and sandwiches. One street south of the Abbey.

The Cornish Bakery, 7 Abbey Churchyard.

Brown's Brasserie, Old Police Station, Orange Grove (a neighborhood north of the Abbey).

We were on the RS Best of England in 14 Days tour in April, and ate at these restaurants. Ate at The Real Pizza Company twice.

Leaving from Brooks Guesthouse, there is also a good pub across the street and going out of town 1/2 block, The Hop Pole pub. Great pints, great fish and chips. Check the menu. The chef sometimes prepares roast beef or baked chicken for dinner.

Another vote for The Scallop Shell and also a "tea lunch" at the Pump Room. Some will say the Pump Room is just touristy, but it is quite good and well worth it.
