Bath & Cotswolds Day Trip from London

We will be staying in London, and are considering a day excursion out of the city. Does anyone know of any tours or good options for visiting Bath and exploring some areas of the Cotswolds? I've seen multiple tours that include those two destinations along with 1 or 2 other stops, but we just want to include Bath and the Cotswolds. We are definitely open to the idea of taking the train (I know getting around once in the Cotswolds would not be easy using public transit, however).

Both your locations are a far apart so whatever u find that works for u book it. Frankly ea locale u could easily spend the entire day. Both are a wonderful visit. A tour consolidates it with interests in between. No bad imo to do in 1day.

If you have time you could easily do them both, one each day. You would leave from Paddington Station in London. For the Cotswolds you would go to Moreton-in-Marsh, from Moreton toy could get the bus to Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water, just to name a few, would would have time to visit two or three. You could even take a taxi if you wanted, but it would cost more.

We stayed in Chipping Campden for six days on our 4 week drive tour of Wales and England last October. With a car, you need a day and a half to see the Cotswolds (not including Bath) right. Consider what tours are available, also consider renting a car from a place like Oxford or Bath. Bath will take you a full day to see, as will Oxford.

We spent four days in the Cotswolds earlier this month. I agree that you need no less than one day in the Cotswolds and perhaps a separate day trip to Bath. I would recommend taking the train from Paddington Station in London to Moreton-in-Marsh and then visit multiple villages by way of an organized tour. We booked our tour in advance (cotswoldsguidedtours.co.uk/) There were seven of us in the mini-bus, and we saw Upper and Lower Slaughter, Bibury, Burford, and Bourton on the Water. You would be picked up and dropped off at the train station. It was great to have a local guide explain the history of each place. During our other days in the Cotswolds, we hiked and also used a taxi a couple of times. Public buses do exist but they seemed few and far between and would limit how much you would actually be able to see.

For a day trip from London focus on Bath. There is plenty to do. Wonderful city for walking. And if you can, signup for a very good (and free) walking tour:

Cotswolds are beautiful but need a car, time and walking shoes for a few countryside ‘rambles’. We stayed in Chipping Camden for 6 nights doing lots of village to village walking; great pub and lunch dinners.

Thanks! We are leaning toward saving the Cotswolds for a future trip, perhaps.
