Bath: canal walk to Bathampton

Would you say that this is a fairly easy walk?

It sounds lovely - and I plan to have lunch at a pub. Both the George Inn and Bathampton Mill look great - any preferences?

Thanks!

We did this 10 years back at age 60. The walk is easy, but it was hot and sunny day, my memory is there are long stretches with no break from the sun, and the walk back was a bit hot. So prep accordingly! I think we dropped in on the George as we hit that first. The snack and break were welcome.

I too would say that this an easy, level walk along the canal. We did it on a Sunday and stopped at a pub for a Sunday roast. There was a dock with ferries at the pub so we took a ferry back to Bath because of the summer heat. It was a pleasant walk and we were asked to help at one of the locks.

Larry, thanks!

I’ll be prepared whatever the weather - hat and water bottle for sure. Hopefully it will be nice, shd even a bit cool!

Thanks!

We did this walk twice in August of last year. It is very flat and interesting looking at the canal and the canal boats and the surrounding hills. There is a nice church and churchyard in Bathhampton but the church was closed. We enjoyed the walk. A little overgrown with vegetation in just a few spots.
