Basic Overnight Hotel at London Heathrow for morning flight??

Mom with two teens looking for an EASY place to just spend the night before a flight back to the states at 10 the next morning. Nothing fancy but if it has a gym, and/or breakfast and a close location serviced by airport bus (? hoppa), that would be ideal. Budget around $150 or less for one night?
Thanks for any tips!

I always use Hotwire to find a place near Heathrow. Mind you, it's only for 2 and not 3 people, but I can usually get something for $80 or so...and I think we've had the Holiday Inn once or twice, and maybe the Sheraton...I honestly can't remember, but we've been happy with them for a one night stay. When looking on Hotwire, it should tell you whether the hoppa services the hotel (or has transport to the airport). I think a lot of the hotels near Heathrow offer this service...

If you've never used Hotwire, you don't know which hotel until you commit to buy, but you will see what kind of reviews it has, amenities, area, etc,

We always stay at the Radisson Edwardian Blu Heathrow.

Easy bus service, all the amenities and very nice. Our upcoming trip reservations for one night, family room were 135 GBP.

we've stayed at the Jury's Inn. It was very convenient to the tube and comfortable.

Last August I spent my last night at Premier Inn Terminal 5, which is on Bath Rd four minutes away from the airport by public bus. You take bus 423 from T5 (FREE). I had a really great room with every amenity I needed - flat screen TV, coffee and tea making in the room, comfortable bed, sofa, wifi, restaurant in the lobby and a McDonald's right next door. I paid about $56 (single traveler). The bus stop is directly in front of the hotel, too. My flight was at 11:00, so I took the 7:50 bus back to the airport. The Hoppa bus also goes there, but when Heathrow stopped allowing individual hotels to have their own buses, they started subsidizing the public bus (which is why it is free to local hotels). I didn't see any point in paying 4.50 GBP (x6, in your case) to take the Hoppa.

I'll echo Douglas and Nancy's comments. Jury's Inn has been our choice several times. Yes, the hoppa bus goes there but so does the free airport perimeter bus. This website has lots of information about both types of bus, and the bus numbers for the different terminals, and some examples of room rates and a map of where the hotels are on the perimeter. http://www.londontoolkit.com/lhr/heathrow_local_buses.htm

The Jury's Inn is quite close to the Hatton Cross tube stop and bus stop. If you are coming from London, you might consider travelling to Hatton Cross and walking to the hotel. Unfortunately that tube station does have steps, so you'll have to decide if that's OK with your luggage in tow. Enjoy your trip!
