Barbican Theater area hotel

Our group will be staying at the Thistle City Barbican in June. I believe it has fairly good access to the West End theaters. We will see Les Mis and our daughter will see Phantom. Which show are you hoping to see?

"Hamlet" with B. Cumberbatch???? Sold out long ago though there is a blurb about 10 pound tix on the theater's web site.

Yes, we are going to try to beg, borrow or steal tickets to see Hamlet. Last year, we were lucky enough to be able to stand outside the theater and get returned tickets for Martin Freeman in Richard III. That was merely by chance. We didn't even know it was playing until we passed by it on a Big Bus tour. This year, we know Hamlet is sold out, and I am on the mailing list of the Barbican site for any information on the tickets they release on the days of the performance. We are going to stay in the area and attempt it for 3 days only toward the end of our trip.

Linda: I see that there are some hotels that are packaging rooms and theater tickets. If this is anything like the Olympic games these packages will be very, very expensive, but might have a look. Good luck. A lady friend was all ready to see this performance this past summer; then she found out that they are scheduled for this year, not 2014.
