Avanti West Coast Trains- Easter Weekend

Throughout Easter weekend London Euston station will be closed to all main line trains due to HS2 Engineering Work.

Avanti and LNWR Trains will start/terminate at Milton Keynes or even Crewe with road replacement transport to/from Bedford for East Midlands trains to St Pancras.

There is also engineering work between Crewe and Preston with trains diverted non stop via Manchester, extending journey times.

For Harry Potter at Watford only the all stations London Overground trains will run from Euston.

Will this cause an issue on a train I am taking to Liverpool on Tuesday April 2nd?

It shouldn't do.

Trains are booked to run normally on the Tuesday.

I am always a trace nervous about travelling the day after a major closure like this in case the work has not been completed in time, and there is still disruption.

But if that happens Avanti will extend their bussing and diversion arrangements.

The penalty clauses for over running no longer seem to worry contractors in the way they used to- I used to have sleepless nights and be on 24 hour call out when on jobs with rail possessions, knowing the punitive levels of penalty clause over railway works. As I would have to authorise a job running over leading to penalty clauses being invoked.
