Avanti West Coast train schedules

I'm planning to book a trip to London Euston from Glasgow aboard the Avanti West Coast on June 25. I've noticed that their weekend schedules are available on a somewhat erratic schedule (i.e. weekends in mid-May are still not available, nor are most of the weekends in June). Is this typical or is the line offering more limited service?

You may want to look at a post in the England forum entitled Liverpool to London raised at the weekend which covers this very topic.

It’s because there are engineering works in the next few weeks, timetables are still to be confirmed and Advance tickets are yet to go on sale.

Sign up for a ticket alert and you’ll be the first to know when times are confirmed. Likely in a couple of weeks.

There’s been a lot of engineering work on the West Coast Mainline on weekends lately, and as a result Avanti haven’t been able to firm up their timetable for those dates. If they do opt to put Advance tickets on sale (which isn’t a given) it’ll probably be much closer to departure, maybe a month or less.

As a possible alternative you can go London Edinburgh on LNER then switch to a ScotRail train to Glasgow Queen Street, which may be available now and at a cheaper price than an Off-Peak or Anytime on Avanti.

Or book a ticket from Glasgow central on LNER, they have few trains between Glasgow and London via Edinburgh.

No luck for me. Getting ready to switch plans and do Glasgow to Edinburgh and then on to London. It'll be fun with luggage, but oh well.
