We will be in London in April and will be going to an evening performance of the Lion King. It has been some time since we were last there and I am wondering what appropriate attire would be for an evening performance. Most of our traveling will be in blue jeans, but I am curious if we need to have a sport coat/tie/dress on hand. Thanks
Whatever you like. Loads of people will be in jeans, especially at something like The Lion King.
Some people dress up a bit for the theatre but many more just wear whatever they happen to be wearing that day.
Almost anything goes these days. I've spotted people wearings shorts to West End & Broadway shows.
Few men wear ties in offices these days, so you certainly won't need one for the theatre. Anything goes clothes wise. Some will be in office attire, others in jeans.
Like the other posts have stated, you can anything. Personally I feel wearing docker type pants and a nice shirt/sweater shows respect to the actors, even though they can’t see you.
Jeff, it might be fun to attend Lion King in an animal costume, no?
You can wear anything you want, but I would wear a pair of jeans and a nice shirt and since it is April, the jacket you plan to wear when your out and about. If you have other pants then wear thise and a nice shirt. No need to wear a sport coat, tie.
Very casual; you will see many attending in jeans.
Business casual to jeans in office on Friday. If the latter, the jeans should be a nice pair. But no need for coat and tie for men. The dress code for symphony concerts in major German cities is quite different for many attending.
