Hi,
Can anyone recommend me what is better to visit: North York Moors National Park, Lake District National Park or Eryri National Park? I want to spend next summer holiday camping, far away from noises. I’ll be using my brother’s caravan so it would be great if you also know any caravan sites where I can stay. Thanks for help xx
You'll get a stack of different answers.
In part it depends on whether you will have a car or be using public transit.
Are you wild camping, or using camp sites.
Here in the Lake District National Park there are the honeyspot places, but also plenty of camping places -especially out west (places like Eskdale, Wasdale and Ennerdale), or in the far east of the county, where the Cumbria (now Westmoreland) /Yorkshire Border in the Howgills where you can be as quiet as you like.
For instance if you go down to the far end of Ennerdale you come to the Black Sail Hut- which is England's remotest youth hostel. That is seriously far away from noise/anything. But I think you can also camp at the other end of the lake at Bowness Knott or the Anglers' [the reservoir outlet, where the old Anglers Arms pub was years ago].
joannask11, can I suggest that you put more information in your question? You will get more people to respond if they know more details about your stay.
It would be helpful to know the following:
- Will you have a rental car or will you use public transport?
- How long will you be camping for?
- What time of year are you planning to visit?
Lastly, I would suggest editing your question title from "Asking for recommendation" to something like "Requesting feedback on camping at North York NP, Lake District NP or Eryri NP". It's easy to do - just open up your initial post and in the lower left hand corner is an "edit" button. Press that and you can change the title.

So is she looking for places where she can park her camper?
If she means a caravan then that’s a towed mobile home. Is your brother driving it to a destination and then you’re staying in it?
If you’re using a caravan you will need to find a site for it - you can’t just stop anywhere. There are a very wide range of campsites from very large with lots of facilities to very simple. I assume you are looking for the latter but you need to understand what that means for facilities like toilets, electricity etc before you decide where to stay.
there was some sort of a change somewhere here today based on the time of last change, but I don't see any changes and the last post was two days ago.
Anybody??

Nigel, did it get bumped to the top? That can happen when members (the OP or commenters) edit their posts. I do that sometimes. I go back to see later posts and happen to notice a typo in an earlier one of mine. Once I fix it and save it, it automatically bumps it to the top.
The OP slightly edited their opening statement I believe, from memory.
If the OP is camping all summer then they have time to visit all three National Parks.
I am still very unclear whether the brother is parking it up somewhere, and if the OP will then have a car.
That is really stopping me from making reccomendations. But if she is seeking peace and quiet for some time it is almost axiomatic that it will be distant from transit. So she would likely need a car.I
I think more information would be very useful to assist us to help her.
Did @joannask11 reach a conclusion on where to go?
If not would she like to give us any more information on the lines of what we asked for, to allow us to give her a better answer with specific suggestions?
