I just found that article and want to share it to travelers for their travel plans to / via LHR airport:
I am absolutely not supporting this initiative - so this is no PR or similar.

Hmm, I’m somewhat wondering if they’re announcing this more for the publicity than to actually try to shut down the airport. I have no idea what the laws are in the UK, but I think I can safely assume that interfering with flight operations is considered a serious felony and maybe even an act of terrorism. They’d be looking at serious prison time, not just a slap on the wrist for blocking a road.
And in May they announced it would happen in June & July:
Wow. I am a climate change activist and I think this is a HORRIBLE and terrifying idea! I sure hope it doesn't come to pass.

I agree with you. I've been involved in environmental causes since the early '70's but I think this tactic will simply alienate people. Imagine disrupting someone traveling to see their loved one overseas for the last time.....what a despicable thing to do.
It’s been an bunch of nothing so far.
Heathrow protest fails to take off as drones 'blocked by signal jammers'
the 5 arrests yesterday may have helped

I think the blocked drones had a bigger effect, I suspect the sense of disappointment was quite palpable.
all that money on the drones and no joy.... shame
