Arriving Terminal 2 Heathrow and need to get to Premier Inn

Hoping a fellow traveler can give me some recommendations: flying United into Heathrow on a Wednesday in August, landing around 9 p.m. at Terminal 2. From there I need to get to the Premier Inn near Terminal 4. Can you advize me on the Hoppa bus experience and/or other options?

I know I can get into London via the tube to Green Park or the Heathrow Express to Paddington -- done both of these before -- but I'm a little nervous about the late hour and the prospect of a long wait at Border Control (last April I was in line 2 1/2 hours).

Any suggestions are sincerely appreciated.

Go to Terminal 4 from the Heathrow Express platforms first (free). Walk from there.

From the Heathrow Airport website:

Transferring from Terminal 2 to Terminal 4:

Free shuttle trains run between Heathrow Central station (Terminals 2 & 3) and Terminal 4 or Terminal 5. There are four trains an hour. Please note from 20 May 2018, to travel on the shuttle trains, you can get a free Inter-Terminal Transfer ticket from the machines in the station. You can also use an Transport for London Oyster card or a contactless payment card which will not be charged when travelling between terminals.

Once at Terminal 4 follow signs to the Premier Inn. It's a few minutes walk under a covered walkway.

The Heathrow Express doesn't stop at Terminal 4. But there is another shuttle train that will take you between terminals.

This way, you never leave the Heathrow Airport grounds or have to deal with a bus.

That is why I said the Heathrow Express platforms and not the Heathrow Express itself. This is the dominant signing, with connections playing second fiddle at best.

If going the other way you can use the Underground free as well, although it isn't convenient in this direction as you would need to change at Hatton Cross.
