Arrive Gatwick to London City, Time to get there

We arrive to Gatwick from Seattle, nothing to declare and heading to London City Airport to catch the next flight.
Arrive Gatwick at 7:05 am, the flight from London City is at 11:15am.

Thoughts? It's an hour train ride, it seems like all should work

Thanks for your input

Unless it is a single booking, I would not have a 'warm n fuzzy' feeling about it.

Are you still shopping for air tickets, or looking for assurance that 'all is well' ?

If your flight arrives on time, if immigration lines are not long, if you have no baggage to retrieve, if your train connections are timed efficiently, it should be enough time.
For me that's more 'ifs' than I would be comfortable with.

Yes, budget the expense of buying another airline ticket in case you miss your 11:15 flight.

If that flight from London City is a roundtrip, you will need to buy another roundtrip as the return leg will automatically become null & void if you miss the outbound flight from LCY.

you have no baggage to retrieve, if your train connections are timed
efficiently, it should be enough time.

For me that's more 'ifs' than I would be comfortable with.

Having everything happen perfectly as described by Joe above is why you'll need to budget the last-minute purchase of airline tickets.

Gatwick Airport's website shows urban transit connections to London City, using Google Maps. The route requires a combination of conventional and other surface or Tube trains -- at least one change, more often two. Yet the estimated time is just over an hour. Clicking on the details on Google Maps the day of travel sometimes comes up with delays on the route. https://www.gatwickairport.com/to-and-from/

My standard is 4 hours for flights at the same airport. No way would I feel comfortable with that.

sixty to 90 minutes to clear Gatwick, get downstairs to the station (add 15 more if you need to buy the ticket and even more if you need to ride the people mover from North Terminal to South Terminal where the station is).

Up to 15 min waiting for the next Thameslink train.

75 to 90 minutes for the train, connections, and DLR transport with no luggage.

So now we are looking at 2:30 to 3:30 to get to check in at London City, if your flight to Gatwick is on time and there are no delays on the train (for example, no trains through central London this Sunday on Thameslink). That's 9:35 to 10:35 when you rock up. What time does your second flight require you to be at London City?
