Are the park and rides around Oxford a safe enough place to park your rental car, or do they have a reputation for break-ins? Will have a car with a trunk to help keep our luggage out of site. We will be on our way from Heathrow (not just arriving) to Stow on the Wold on Sat, June 1st and stopping at Oxford on our way. Based on reading other forum topics, looks like Peartree may be best? Looking at doing the Hop On/Off bus. Still trying to figure out how to best catch the City Sightseeing bus if that is our approach.

Security was beefed up a few years back so there aren't the specific issues there once were. However, like any car park it can't be 100% secure.
The sightseeing bus notional starting point is the railway station but starting anywhere is fine. Although you can get on and off I would suggest considering it more as a round trip guided tour, then take it to the first place you want to visit. Don't miss out on the walking component which is included.
