Anyone use Fox Rent a car or Easyrent at Gatwick?

Their prices are significantly lower than the other places to rent but I have never heard of them.

We had a bad experience with Eurocar in France but that was a big company. So big did not help in that case.

Any personal experience is appreciated.

Never heard of them but from experience if the price is significantly cheaper than the competition then avoid like the plague. There'll be lots of hidden extras, dubious 'damage claims' and a tired fleet.

You may pay more but for peace of mind and less hassle go for the better, well established companies.

Hertz, Avis, Sixt, Budget, Enterprise, National are all good, trustworthy companies in the UK. If other rental agencies appear significantly cheaper it's because they whack on stealth charges when you collect your car.

Renting a car in the UK is not particularly cheap but if you want transparency, a decent car, no hidden extras and no risk of dubious damage charges then stick to the main players. Going for a cheaper alternative inevitably results in more expense and hassle.

Advantage seemed to be the same or very close to the most known ones but I had never heard of it. Is it a big company in the UK?

If not, I think I will book with Hertz.

In Canada and the US I can usually find discount codes online to help bring the cost down. Do these codes exist in the UK?

Advantage and Fox are established American companies but I've never used them. They're common in tourist places like Vegas or Florida.

I've used discount codes for Enterprise and Budget in Europe.

Thanks, I will see if I can find any codes. I guess I have to travel more cause I had never heard of Fox or Advantage and after you said they were established I had to go look. Thank you.
