Anyone hiked to Scale Force Waterfall?

Hi all,

My husband and I are very good hikers...good for 5 mile hikes....But we are not good for STRENUOUS hikes.

It sounds like we could hike from Buttermere village to the falls in a 2.5 mile hike roundtrip. Is this really STRENUOUS?

Thanks,
Virginia

the falls are on the hillside directly over the lake from the village.
Its about 300ft climb from the lakeshore to the base of the falls. Thats as easy as you will find in the Lakes...

No a difficult hike at all. Most of the hikes in the Lake District are not strenuous until you get up into the higher elevations. Most of the hikes around Buttermere are easy to moderate including this one.

Hi Richard and Anita,

Thank you both so much for letting me know that this hike is not strenuous!!

The falls look spectacular from pictures I have seen on the Web. We can't wait to see them in person!

Kindest Regards,
Virginia
