Any issues getting ETA?

Only use the official website and app to get one: https://www.gov.uk/eta Anything that charges you more than 20 pounds is not the official site. Some people have issues with the app reading passports and taking photos. Do a quick search in the forum on "ETA problems" and you'll see where things have gone awry.

I have seen very few posts about problems in getting an ETA for several months now, which suggests that the system is working pretty well. As CL says the main issue is people clicking on a commercial site rather than the official UK Government site and thereby spending much more than they need to.

My wife and I are heading to the UK in 3 weeks, we got ours a couple of months ago online at the official site. Pretty quick and easy. If I recall correctly, it was around 20 bucks each. Just as a backup, I printed out my confirmation receipt to take with me, probably unnecessary to do, but just on the safe side, I'd hate to have the airline deny boarding because of a computer hang up.

Issues that I have seen here including difficulties for people who did not understand that they were UK dual citizens which meant that they were not eligible for an ETA and needed a UK passport to enter the UK, other people who were ineligible due to old run-ins with the law, And then the folks who followed links to people happy to take their money to do what they can do for themselves trivially.
