Another transport question for my England friends...

Mom and I are now staying by the Kensington High Street underground station (long story- disastrous airbnb so we are now in a hotel!) and tomorrow we would like to go to the British Museum and the Westfield shopping Centre, which I believe is in Shepherd’s Bush. We don’t need to do this in any particular order, so I wanted to check to see what recommendations anyone might have departing from Kensington High Street station. Does it make sense to go to the British Museum first and then the Westfield shopping Centre or vice versa? And any ideas of how to make it work via the underground with the fewest stops?
As usual, I am so grateful for all of the good advice on this forum!!

Getting to either by tube is actually simple.

High Street Kensington to Westfield: Take the District or Circle line one stop north to Notting Hill Gate. Then switch to the Central Line west two stops to Shepherds Bush. The station is at the south end of the mall about a 3 minute walk to the entrance.

Hight Street Kensington to British Museum: Take the District of Circle line one stop north to Notting Hill Gate. Then switch to the Central line east to Tottenham Court Road. From there it is less than a 10 minute walk to the British Museum.

You may already know this, but if not, use Google maps to help you find the best transportation options. It has live feeds from trains and subways and can help you decide on the fly which is the best way to get anywhere. You just have to change it from driving to transport at the top after you search.

If you have data on your phones, I highly recommend downloading the Citymapper app — it will give you real-time suggestions (and tell you how long it will take, including walking time) to get to your destination by Tube, bus, walking, taxi, bike, etc. An excellent resource.

I've taken the tube to Shepards Bush from Kensington and it's really pretty easy even with a tube change. Depending on how active your mom is, I'd say Tube is the way to go to both. I hope you can share your AirBnB story when you get back.
