Another Cotswolds Village Recommendation post...

I am wondering what village people would recommend near to Moreton-in-Marsh that is reachable by taxi or bus from the train station that has both gardens to visit in the village or nearby but that also has other villages nearby that are within walking distance? Not a long hike, but a leisurely 1-2 hour walk? And/or have nearby villages accessible by a short bus ride? I don't need shopping options and prefer places to explore at a leisurely pace. Are there less popular options than what I am finding, ie, Chipping Campden, Stow, etc? I would really like to visit Hidcote but I am wondering if after the visit that day, we wouldn't find other things to visit for 2 other days if we stay in Chipping Campden? We are looking at basing somewhere for three nights. Does Chipping Campden make the most sense? Would love fields of sheep to walk through for a sheep animal loving daughter.

I stayed in Chipping Campden 3 years ago and really enjoyed it. It is a beautiful village and was an easy taxi ride from M in M train station. I had a room at the Bantam Tea room and guesthouse. I took a full day, small van tour with Go Cotswolds & got to see several of the villages. I googled 'best hikes from chipping campden' and got lots of information.

We loved Chipping Campden and used it as a base for 6 nights in 2017.
Our small hotel was The Volunteer Inn, which was nice, spacious rooms, reasonable rates. Also, it had the best pub in town and a great Indian restaurant.

Cant help with accommodations, since we rented a house and had a car for our week in the Cotswolds. But this caught my eye:

Would love fields of sheep to walk through for a sheep animal loving daughter.

Better seen from the other side of a fence. Unless you have no regard whatsoever for your shoes or boots. Nothing romantic about having to watch where you are putting your foot at every step.

😂 I hear you... We live in the country and animal poop (turkey, deer, cow, dog, coyote, etc) is a part of our lives but maybe not on our travel shoes. Lol
