My husband and I will be celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary while in London. Any suggestions on a nice place for dinner, maybe something historic, or romantic.

Do you have a budget and any preferences for food?
I am a foodie and like most things. My husband dislikes Indian food and Sushi. We can splurge a bit but it’s really more about the quality of food and atmosphere. We both like seafood, steak, and Italian.
I’d suggest The River Cafe in Hammersmith. I have not been there but one day I will get there.
I second The River Cafe. We have gone there a few times over the years and have never been disappointed. It is a lovely special occasion restaurant. A second suggestion would be Clarke’s in the Kensington area. Also lovely with exceptional service and great food.

I'm thinking of Simpson's in the Strand for our anniversary dinner.
Happy anniversary!
Thanks so much. This forum never lets me down. These are some great suggestions.
I was also going to suggest the River Cafe- very nice for a special occasion. My favourite restaurant in London is Bocca di Lupo- some of the best Italian food you will ever get outside Italy. It's small so it books up quickly.
It was a few years ago but I had a really nice dinner at Circolo Popolare. Dining room is beautiful and the food and service was top notch. Like many restaurants these days it can get noisy. Not sure if it’s within your budget though.
It went on a Friday night and it was very busy so reservations highly suggested.
Happy Anniversary and have a wonderful trip!
