I am looking for alternate buses or coaches other than National Express that go from Heathrow Term 1 to Winchester. on Oct. 2. For some reason, I am unable to book a trip with Natl Express, altho I did last year with no problem. I called my credit card co. Visa, and they agree that there is no reason why I should be declined, and of course I was checking and double checking what I entered. I've tried unsuccessfully to get any help from National Express. They can't seem to explain it either. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

In the days before we could book bus tickets on line, we always just bought tickets to Winchester at the bus station.

I presume you have tried the standard things of clearing cookies, or using a different browser.
Coach to Woking, train from there is an alternative. The coach is actually run by NatEx but you can pick up a ticket and go on the day. Runs twice an hour. There may well be space on the day on the direct coach service too, but the online fares etc won't be available.

National Express is the only real nationwide coach service. There is also the much smaller and somewhat strange Megabus but I doubt that you would get help there.
