Airshow in Eastbourne

I will be at the Seven Sisters the same weekend as an airshow that will be performed at Eastbourne in August. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations or knowledge about the event. Thank you!

Look at the MILAVIA web page which provides scheduling info and sometimes reviews of airshows. I’ve used it to find shows in France, UK and Germany.

it is a longstanding airshow and will draw crowds from near and far. It may make your experience of the chalk cliffs different - great if you like spectacle nearby or glimpses of flying machines (I would) or it may disturb the solitude and peacefulness you would hope for in your encounter with the chalk and the sea.

I guess it all depends on how you react.

Hope you have a pleasant stay here.

Thanks for the advice; I do however, love the airshows when they do come every few years. The Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds!! I feel fortunate to be able to be in the area at the time they will be performing.

I go almost every year as my mum has a flat in Eastbourne and we love Airbourne! Over the years we’ve seen some stunning and historic planes; check the Airbourne website for the daily flying schedule. The typhoons are really really noisy! The Red Arrows are always a hit and they approach the display area (the beach where we’re all waiting) from behind. They flip on the smoke trails and suddenly they’re overhead.

There is a static display area along the front too; if you’ve any interest in planes or the RAF then do come along. It’ll be busy and noisy but as long as the weather holds you’ll have a lovely view into the sky,

I don’t stay in the local hotels but I should imagine they’ll be expensive and booking up quickly so if you want to stay, book sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment. The local buses and restaurants are always busy as well.
