Hello we are a family of 4 travelling and looking to see if anyone might have recs about taxi services form London Heathrow. The express works out to quite expensive. Anyone heard of the Minicabbit services? They seems to be quoting around 75 dollars. Is this quite reasonable. We are staying near West bromptom.

There are several threads with suggestions of car services that people have used. You might try to use the search feature to see if those will bring up some leads for you. I agree, with a group of four, a private transfer makes sense.
Could take the Tube.
Personally with 4 people and luggage I’d consider a car service.

If you are staying near West Brompton then the Heathrow Express would be a ridiculous choice anyway as it is way out of the way.
Prebooking a car service for four people really is the easiest and much less expensive than a cab. They will meet you as you exit immigration and customs and drop you at your front door.
I saw Addison Lee positively mentioned in a recent post regarding airport transportation. I was going to add them to my list of companies to consider. I did a quick Google search which brought up TripAdvisor. With over 500 reviews and the terrible outnumbering the excellent by 2 to 1 I decided to put them on my last resort list. Note that I have no actual experience using them.

Blackberry Cars is worth a look. I’ve used them for about 12 years, newish vehicles, reliable service, and good prices. Their website offers a quote service.
The Heathrow Express makes no sense for anyone who isn’t staying at Paddington for a reason that isn’t just because of the Express.
As a solo traveler, I have never used a car service. But, the ones mentioned above tend to get good feedback on the travel forums and with 4 people, a car service can make sense.
Addison Lee received horrific reviews on Trip Advisor (2.5 stars). Majestic Taxis received 5 stars. I booked Majestic (based on their reviews) for my early May trip. Their response has been professional and efficient. Just an FYI.
From what I can tell Addison Lee has been coping badly with a shortage of drivers coming out of Covid. They were by far the biggest single private hire vehicle company operating in London with 4000+ drivers in 2020. Very difficult now to book one of their cars on demand via the app.
I would check Windsor Cars. They have a website. I used them to and from Heathrow in 2018 for a short transfer to Windsor and was very pleased. They also do longer trips.
Any pre-booked cab is going to cost $$$. But honestly its totally worth it. I've always used Twelve Transfers, they are extremely reliable.
