Airbnb alternative?

Hi! I keep hearing/reading horror stories about Airbnb’s being cancelled last minute. Are there any alternate companies we can look at to rent a flat or apartment?

Where will you be? In the larger cities, there are serviced apartments or “aparthotels” as they are sometimes called. These are hotel-like companies that offer apartments instead of bedrooms, generally with full, equipped kitchens. They have a reception desk and other hotel services.

I suppose it would help to include that. Oyyy!

Central London is where we are looking!

OK, good. Here are a few options:

Locke at Broken Wharf is on the river near the Millennium pedestrian bridge and St. Paul’s. Very new, modern, trendy, with compact studios but well-designed. Only for 2 people. Some studios have river views.

In the same area, but not on the river, is Marlin Apartments. They have traditional studios, one and two-bedroom apartments.

Other Marlin Locations are Waterloo, London Bridge, and Tower Bridge.

Native apartments have a lovely building with newer, nicely designed one-bedroom apartments in the South Bank area (we like this area a lot but it is not exactly “central London”). WE have not stayed here (yet) but have stayed in the Native apartments building near Paddington.

Wilde Aparthotels has this near Covent Garden. I reserved here but we had to cancel that trip.

That’s just a start. Also check the Citadines near Trafalgar Square if you like that area.

Hi christen, we used www.ivylettings.com for out 10 day stay last summer. They were very helpful, professional and attentive to our needs- even when we needed their help with a maintenance issue on a Saturday. Good luck!

You can also try Booking.com, there you can compare lodging types, hotels vs apartments and filter by amenity type (refrigerator, kitchen, etc). The map function is very handy as well.
