Air Fares

Planning to fly from Pittsburgh, PA USA to London last week of September, return early October. British Airways fly non stop. when is a good time to buy tickets? When is tourist season there? Any travel sites that would be better to use for the tickets?

The BA site is the best place to buy BA tickets.

If travel is this year, now is a good time to buy.

With BA, prices generally go up the closer it is to the travel date. Now would be a good time to buy.
If you pay for seat selection, the selection is better the further out that you book.

After booking, expect the plane configuration to change meaning your seats will change, and the departure times change too. Since Covid BA has been inconsistent, especially for those flying out of Baltimore.

London is one of the most popular tourist destinations.

There is no best time to visit. However, after decades of visits I do like November.

Buy your tickets now and be done with it.

Only you can decide where else is attractive to you.

I would always book with the airline website. Create an account and download the app. If you are traveling this September/October I would buy now. Tickets will only go up the closer you get to your travel date. London is a popular destination no matter what time of year (except maybe Jan-Feb). Crowds will be less around the 2nd week of September when students go back to school. Nights will get shorter the further you go into October and the weather cooler and wetter. However, the UK has had a very wet and cold July this year due to the jet stream staying south of where it usually is and creating low pressure. There are some reports this could change in September as the Jet stream lifts and dry spells are expected.

I am heading to the UK this September myself, however, I brought tickets almost 9 months ago on AA. You may want to check AA for flights. They do sell BA tickets. However, selecting a seat is more problematic when booking on a code-share.
