I realize this is a long shot, but is there anywhere in London that does a more casual afternoon tea that would be appropriate for a toddler?
There are hundreds of locations offering afternoon tea and it's certainly not all Ritz and Savoy. Plenty would allow a child that was not taking part but many really do charge for child options.
Cafe Rouge does a very affordable £18 option so that might be of interest as a casual all round experience.
If you are looking for a child focused AT there are lots of those too - but whether it's worth it will depends on exact age and engagement.
Palm Court at the Langham (£45) is always considered child friendly and focused. There's Mad Hatters at the Sanderson (£35 child, £48 adult), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at One Aldwych (£45 child, £75 adult), Peter Pan at Aqua at the Shard (£52), Peppa Pig on Brigit's AT bus (£35 child, £45 adult), Dinosaur or Science options at Ampersand (£35 child, £50 adult).
Thank you!!
I'm a big Alice in Wonderland fan and I've done the Mad Hatter afternoon tea at the Sanderson (2018). It was fun and cool. I was by myself and it was a ton of food!
That sounds great! My daughter is really into ballet, and we watch a lot of clips from the Royal Opera ballet’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The Mad Hatter dance is her absolute favorite (mine too). She’s also really into tea and teapots because of it. We will definitely look into this! Thank you!
