Hi all, we're going to be in London for a few days before and after a train trip north & northwest (to York, followed by a week of hiking in the Lake District). Is there a non-expensive but reliable and safe place to leave a suitcase near London Euston or Paddington, for 13 days, to reduce the street clothing we carry while heading north? (Obviously we can travel super light and probably will, but it's good to explore all options, with your help :) An internet search pointed me to left-baggage.co.uk, which has luggage storage within the Euston and Paddington train stations, which feels safer and more official than some external location - but their prices look to be somewhere between GBP 150 and GBP 195 for the 13 days we'd be north & northwest, which wouldn't be worth it. Thanks for helping me to consider all options!
There are a number of luggage storage apps that are easy to use, including Stasher, Bounce, Nannybag and Luggage Hero. We used Stasher and Bounce this Spring and they worked well for us. You are more likely to find a place close by in London or other cities than small towns or villages.
I guess I don't understand your question. If you pack with layering in mind for temperature changes/rainy vs dry conditions you can wear the same clothes in London as you would in York or the Lake District.
I suppose if you're clubbing in London or visiting the King you might need something different.

Not if they are doing serious hiking...
if you are in a hotel in London and returning to the same hotel, you can ask them to hold your luggage between the two stays. Probably no charge. Worth asking.

We did two tours back to back and stayed at the Washington Mayfair Hotel in London. They stored two bags for us for two weeks. We stayed an extra night there on our return route home. It couldn’t have easier. Enjoy your trip. Ask your tour hotel.
Thanks everyone!
