I would take a cab to Paddington station for the train to Bath. If you book online now at www.nationalrail.co.uk, then the 9:20 a.m. and 12:20 trains to Bath still have some advance-rate tickets available. Otherwise, the Off-Peak prices that you see online will also be available to buy at the station. If you want to compare coach (bus) fares departing from Victoria station, try www.nationalexpress.com.

I didn't see a request for Bath. It was very difficult to read the question but I don't see anything about Bath.

If you had had tickets by 6pm tonight you could have had the chance for an Advance ticket to Moreton in Marsh. Too late now, as they need to be purchased by 1800 the evening before.

So now you will need to get walk-up fares. You don't specify ages so I can't help there. You should be sold the cheapest price tickets for your train journey by asking at the window (Marylebone or Paddington) for your group at the time you are traveling.

Or you could consider the Oxford Tube bus service or the other bus to Oxford from Victoria Coach Station which may - at this late date - be cheaper but slower, then get to the station in Oxford from the bus stop at Gloucester Green by local bus or walking, and then the train to Moreton in Marsh.

I wish that you had asked at least 24 hours ago and a better answer saving more money and with greater convenience might have been forthcoming.

You're right, Nigel, I misread the first destination. Luckily, Paddington station is the correct reference for Oxford, too.

Only just seen this but I remember a long thread started by you back in February where you were given advice on this journey for today.

Probably too late now, but the fare will be £97.30 return based on one child (aged 14) and three adults.
