Advance tickets for London Eye? and best way to get to Her Majesty's Theater

We'll be on a group tour in London March 12 & 13th and have two afternoons to explore independently.
I was wondering if we actually need to purchase tickets for the London Eye ahead of time, which lock us in to a set time, or just go there when we're done with our morning tour?
Also, I'd like to attend the theater one evening while we're there. Does anyone know how far Her Majesty's Theater is from the Tower Bridge which is near where we're staying, and what is the best way to get to the theater from there.
Thank you.

The theater is a five minutes walk from the Piccadilly tube stop, six minutes from Charing Cross, and six minutes from Leicester Square. Take your pick. Last March we walked to it from Piccadilly Circus for an afternoon matinee. It was an easy walk. If starting at the Tower Hill station, take a District or Circle line train to Embankment, then switch to the Northern line to Charing Cross. Walk from there.

In March the Eye might not be terrible busy. I’d chance it and just show up rather than being on a strict schedule. Others may have differing opinions.

Thank you for your reply. Do you know if you just "show up" at the Eye can you still get a ticket, even if you have to wait in line? Generally is there a long wait without a ticket?

You should be fine to get a ticket for the Eye. Might be a wait but who cares…. Its London.
