Planning a trip for May this year. Would like to stay in Covent Gardens/ Kings Cross or Soho perhaps. There will be 3 of us, possibly 4. I know alot of the hotels can only accomodate 2 without getting an extra room, which I'm trying to avoid. Also would be great to have a small kitchenette or something of the sorts. My one son has food allergies and it would be nice to have that in case i need to make him food on occasion or a refrigerator to store things. Thoughts? Some people have recommended serviced apartment. I am also not trying to break the bank. Id like to avoid airbnb too.
Hi, To get you started with your search, I just posted these recommendations on another post.

I am also not trying to break the bank.
To help people give good advice, it would be helpful to include your cost range in pounds or US Dollars. London is very expensive compared to some places but it's on a scale, so your idea of breaking the bank may be very different than others.
Also it would help to clarify if it is 2 adults/2 kids or 3 adults/1 kid or ?. If you're all related and don't mind sharing a bed you could possibly find a two queen room or a quad/family room. Websites like Booking.com allow you to search for properties based on the # of people, ages, and # of rooms. You don't have to book using that site but it's helpful for searching, and only people who have actually stayed at a property can leave a review.
OP - look at the Native Places link provided by Mary and look up Native King's Wardrobe, St Paul's and then Native Bankside. Both locations have accommodations that will fit your criteria for four people. I am a big fan of Locke, but their accommodations are really best for couples or solo travelers.
We did a few days in London last Summer. We stayed at the Premier Inn near Victoria Station. The room was small, but OK and cost was in the in the low to mid $200s a night.
Other, higher rated hotels ran close to $400 a night.
For 3 persons, some hotels will provide you with a third temporary bed if you ask, but most won't have room for four.
Suggest doing some research. TripAdvisor.com is a great source. It has a map feature that show your the location of each available hotel or B&B.
I would say the minimum cost per night in a city like London is $100/person. Can the four of you can sleep in two double beds? This seems to be a common hotel room arrangement in most places I have visited. Your food allergy son is a child, right? So he could sleep on any surface offered. This is my policy even for my 19yoa son, who is getting a free trip to London and will take what he gets. You don't say who the 4th possible person is, but I'm going to assume that it is another son, one who is maybe a young adult, so he could certainly share a double bed with his brother. See above re: whether kids get to be choosy about where the sleep when their parents take them on vacation.
Thanks all! it would be my husband, myself and our 19 year old, possibly our 28 year old, both males and yes we could definitely share beds.
