Accommodations north or south of River Thames

Planning on a trip to London in September. Currently researching areas to stay. Would like some feedback on the pros and cons of staying on the north or south side of River Thames. Also the area around Tower Hill & Tower of London. Appreciate it !

We enjoyed staying in beautiful Chelsea near the Thames as well as King’s Road for shopping, Tube. North side of Thames.

Most of the major attractions in central London are on the north side of the Thames, and there are fewer tube services to the south - make sure your south London spot has good public transport accessibility.

The area around Tower Hill is mostly an extension of the City - largely business and very quiet at the weekend, with many of the pubs and restuarants shut.
