Accommodations in Cotswolds, England - August

I am looking to escape the rush of England for a night or two and escape to Cotswolds. This area looks so idyllic and has so many quant places to stay - I can't decide which area of the region or lodging venue to stay! I am looking for something with English charm, mostly interested in a B&B so I can experience true English hospitality. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You will find that charm all over the region. Rick's England or Great Britain guidebooks give honest descriptions of quite a few accommodation choices. You have more options with a car. If you arrive by train, you'll come into Moreton-in-Marsh, then can connect by bus to a base in Chipping Camden or Stow-on-the-Wold. No buses on Sundays.

Badgers Hall, Chipping Campden. The best B&B I have ever stayed at, partly because of the historic accommodation, partly because of the husband/chef making the best English breakfasts ever. Of course, I really wanted to stay there once I discovered they serve afternoon tea, open to the public-- but if you are a guest there, it is included in the room. Heaven.

Here are my pictures from this wonderful place:

Staying in the Cotswolds is idyllic-- you got it right. It is a perfectly charming area, and if you just stay in this one town you get the real flavor of the area. Let me know if you have any questions. Book soon if you are interested. It was such a delight.

I stayed at Corsham Field Farmhouse when I visited in fall of 2012. It is just outside Stow on the Wold. Several nice little pubs for dining within either/walking driving distance.

We visited Ebrington Arms, a beautiful little place in the tiny village of Ebrington. That would be another no so in the path of a gazillion tourists.

The whole area is lovely.

One year we stumbled upon the village of Kingham. I think it had 2 pubs and a shop. Absolutely the quietest place I've ever stayed in the UK. Our B&B was called Moat End..very nice people. Look it up in the tourist information and travel guide-the cotswolds. It's very near Stow and Chipping Norton.
