Accessing Riber Castle, Derbyshire

Hi all,

I'm currently doing a thesis related to this castle and wish to access it to take some photographs and document the building. But I've heard that Riber Castle is going through some kind of construction - to be converted into apartments. I was wondering is there any possibility of gaining access to it? Maybe a request for permission from someone to entry for half an hour or so? Any advice / suggestions would be appreciated.

You could check on planning permission applications at the local council. You should be able to find that information online. Then contact the developer.... good luck....

Hadn't heard of this castle before and was curious so after a bit of googling found it is being developed by Cross Tower Ventures, company situated in Matlock. There was an online story from the local newspaper the Derby Telegraph in January 2013 which suggested that work to convert to apartments was in progress. However, I can't find that any properties have been sold or are for sale using the rightmove website. Possibly work still in progress? Did find a blog with some information www.gowercroft.co.uk/2011/09/riber-castle-redevelopment. It does seem like a really interesting place!
Cross Tower Ventures company address per Companies House is

You could try contacting estate agents (realtors) in Matlock - to see if they are involved in selling properties in this development and if they could help - google should get you lots of results for estate agents in Matlock.
