Do taxi drivers accept credit cards in the British Isles?

Some do, some don't. That's probably as useful a reply to such an open question!

Some do, some don't.

The whole of the two big islands and many small islands of the British Isles is a broad question.

Some licensing areas require it ... for others it is discretionary.

Thank you Marco for actually answering the OP’s question and being polite in doing so (an apparent lost art on this forum).

OP - cabs are very much a local entity and face local regulation and customs. If you will be in one central area or just 2-3 cities please advise as to the area and/or cities and a more specific answer may be provided. If your plans will take you all over England, Scotland, and Ireland then be prepared to pay by cash at times.

If you take a black cab in London, assume yes and assume no for most local mini cabs is a general guide.

What did you expect to see, a list of every Taxi company in the UK and whether they accept credit cards or not?

The simple and only answer is some do and some don't. There's nothing impolite in that response.

No clearly they wanted a list for the entire British Isles. That was the question. 4 British nations and two complete countries.

That's why it would have been so much more straightforward to answer of our OP had either been clearer in her question or had come back to elaborate.

Unfortunately the question is like asking the same question about North America.
