A Stay in Cambridge University in one of its Colleges.....? Have you done this before?

I have a longing to stay in a dorm room in one of the beautiful Colleges of Cambridge University in the UK...The descriptions of each sound rather similar, but 'Westminster College' appears to have more comments logged, hence it must be one of the more popular College accommo's to select...Has anyone had a very nice experience doing this 'college ensuite room stay', and if 'Yes': Did you have a College you would particularly recommend..? Christ College and Clare College also look very nice. Thank you for any comments or informed opinions that you might share.

We stayed in Christ's for a weekend a couple of years ago and it was excellent. We were in one of the old rooms in the Second Court and it was very quiet and atmospheric. The porters were friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast in an old hall was substantial.

The college is also conveniently located on he edge of the town centre, and has a couple of nice gardens.

My memory is that it was reasonably priced as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Westminster College is a religious seminary that is some distance away from the centre of Cambridge.

More generally, don't have high expectations for luxurious and historic accomodation - most accomodation buildings in Oxford and Cambridge nowadays are very basic and recent college dorms, even those on the main college site.
