7 days itinerary for England in mid-September 2024

I will be traveling with my 21 year old daughter. We're willing to have 2 days in London (maybe not quite enough time) but would like to get see other parts of England. Where would you say is a must visit?

How many nights will you be in England? Bath, York and London is what you want to see. Bath is a day trip from London. You need a minimum of one night in York. I suggest spending the remainder of your time in London.

Do your 7 days include your travel days; arrive day 1, leave day 7? If so I may not leave London but add a couple of day trips. We've spent 4 weeks in England in the past few years and haven't made it north of London yet. The cathedrals in Salisbury and Canterbury are outstanding. In Bath, we enjoyed the Roman Baths and the Fashion Museum.

What are your interests? History? Art? Gardens? Hiking/walks? Ancient sites? villages? Do you have interest in movies or TV shows filmed in England?

I would be inclined to suggest splitting your time in London and York. Do day trips from London (e.g., Canterbury, Richmond) and York (e.g. Yorkshire Dales/Moors) depending on interests.

Yes, 2 day of travel (1 travel to and 1 day to travel to our next destination of Central Europe: either Vienna, Prague or Budapest).

Day trips from London: by train how many hours does it take to areas like Bath, etc? We like sites, hiking & villages& towns, experiencing England outside of London.

1 hour and a 1/2 from London to Bath by train.

Food ? Art? Theatre? History? Seaside? Museums? Parks? Sports?

Interests?

I’ve been staying and visiting London for 50 years. Still haven’t seen everything. It’s always changing. Always the same.

Last visit 2022 finally got to Wimbledon.

You can easily do a day trip to Oxford from London by train. Cambridge is another good option. I love both cities. Punting on the River Cam in Cambridge is such an enjoyable, relaxing activity, you'll feel far from the bustle of London, but it's only an hour by train.
