I will be flying in to Gatwick and have a 30 hour layover until my flight out of Heathrow. I have been to London several times so have seen all the big sights. I need some suggestions for areas to stay in that has some charm and things to do please.

Have you already spent time in Richmond? That might be a nice place to stay, it's somewhat between the two airports and you're not far from Heathrow to get your next flight. It's very charming, you can walk along the river, visit the park, see some of the historic homes (Ham House, Marble Hill House, etc) or visit Kew Gardens.

Windsor is close to the airport and is a great place to spend a day. I love Richmond, it is wonderful place to visit anytime of the year and is charming place to shop, eat at a pub, and of course there is Kew Gardens.
