I'm planning on a 3-day stay in London this fall prior to travelling onto France and points East. I would like to see a Premier League match during the stay. I'm looking for ideas for other attractions. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Premier League tickets are universally challenging to obtain. With most clubs even members struggle - they all have lots of season ticket holders and they normally get first chance at extras. You really should only buy from a club or one of the very small number of other sellers the clubs recommend. The best bet is to go for a hospitality package. Whilst more expensive you can often find these on sale long before the normal ticket date, with the caveat that the exact day and time of said match may change slightly once the 42 day window is reached.
The Premier League fixtures will be released in late June (this season doesn’t finish until next weekend).
When they are released they will show all games being played at 3pm on Saturdays (apart from a few midweek games). But many games will be moved for live TV coverage to any time from Friday evening to Monday evening - you need to be prepared for that to happen.
If you are willing to consider watching a Championship game (one level below the Premier League) they are much easier to get in. For most you should be able to pay at the gate. But there will only be 2 teams in London - QPR and Millwall in the Championship, plus Watford not too far away.
Other ideas:
Have a meal in a former public urinal. The Attendant
See theatre
Wander about Spitalfields
if “ early Fall “ includes November 11 watch the Lord Mayors Parade
Stroll along the Thames Path
Visit Greenwich
Check local rugby clubs websites to see where matches are being held
And for the heck of it look online for London Sites to see if any are of interest to you.
