Last night I was reading a Cumberland Council press release.

18 hours later the ever impressive BBC news online has finally caught up.

The Womens' race starts with Leeds to Manchester on 30 July, then Manchester to Sheffield on 31 July, then a stage in London on 1 August

I watched the Tour pass through the Yorkshire Dales, where I live in 2014, it was amazing and I’m not particularly in to road racing. We arrived, along with many others just after 7am to get a good vantage point, even though the peloton weren’t due until lunchtime. The atmosphere was fantastic as was the lead up weeks & months of preparation. I’ll be going into the Trough of Bowland to watch on 2nd July 2027, a few of the climbs will be spectacular to watch - they count towards King of the Mountains. Very excited!

The finish of stage 2 is on the historic and iconic waterfront at Liverpool.
If you want to stay, I’d book a hotel room or AirB&B now!
