2 or 3 nights touring The Cotswolds

We have 7 1/2 days to tour the southwest of England via car. Would 2 or 3 nights be more fitting for the Cotswolds? Thank you

We stated in Chipping Campden for 6 nights but did day trips to Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Stratford Upon Avon. We used two days to tour the Cotswolds. You can do it in two full days.

The Volunteer Inn was great it has the best pub in town and a great Indian restaurant.

The Cotswolds is an area of ca. 800 sq. miles and is full of beautiful villages and towns, pubs, ancient monuments including hill forts, stone monuments, Roman towns and villas, castles, abbeys, manors, cathedrals/churches, oh, and did I mention the beautiful scenery? You could easily spend all your time there and not see it all. Presumably you are renting a car so I would say 3 days minimum. I think it depends on where else you want to go and what you are interested in seeing.

Thanks, so much for your reply! I'm considering 3 nights in Stow-on-The-Wold .I will check out your recommendation, as well. I had an earlier more extensive post that I have not received feedback on. We have already done Oxford. I would like to see Stratford upon Avon.

Here's a link to your other thread:
https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/england/cotswolds-western-england-possibly-cornwall
in case people answering the question we're on now wish to see it.

I suppose the reason you've received no answers over there may be because it is unrealistic to try to cover all the areas named--all spread out and far from one another--in the time frame you have.

On the other thread, you say the Cotswolds are a priority and that you'd like to see Stratford-Upon-Avon.

So to answer your question above....."Would 2 or 3 nights be more fitting for the Cotswolds? Thank you"

2 or 3 nights for the Cotswolds is not adequate to see much.
If the Cotswolds are your priority, I would spend two nights in Stratford-Upon-Avon, two to three nights in Chipping Campden, as geovagriffith suggested.
Or Stow-on-The-Wold, which you had mentioned.

Then I would move on to one other destination.
You don't have time for a meaningful trip to Wales, Cornwall, or other far-flung destinations on your other thread.

You expressed interest in "southwestern England" but did not say which towns or cities.
How about two nights in Bath or Salisbury?
Both have lovely cathedrals.
You simply will not be able to cover the amount of ground you planned in your other thread.
Sometimes forum members here think you're joking or pulling their leg if you name too many far-flung destinations for a short time period. Perhaps that's why no one has answered.

Thanks, Rebecca! As I have researched today, I quickly realized that we do not have enough time for the previously mentioned areas. I appreciate your attention to my questions.

Hello Christy, I was thinking you would realize that, as you looked at a map and got farther along trip planning!

The Cotswolds are lovely, so if you end up spending most of your time there, it's a good thing.

You may wish to stop in Warwick to see Warwick Castle....it's just a stone's throw from Stratford-Upon-Avon.
You may wish to see Sudeley Castle, Winchcombe, not far from the town of Broadway.
Broadway is a lovely spot for lunch and a walk.

I am following this thread. We have a 1.5 days in the Cotswolds with a car and will be coming from Oxford. Day 1, we plan to leave Oxford early and go to Bibury, Bourbon on the Water, Slaughter, Moreton in Marsh, and Stow Wold. We plan to stay the night in Stow. Day 2 (1/2 day), we plan to start early and go to Stanway, Broadway, and Chipping Campden.

I have a feeling this may be too ambitious and may need to be adjusted.
