I had to change my return flight and selected a Copenhagen to London to Denver flight. Does anyone have any experience with a 2.5 hour layover between two international flights? I presume that both flights would be in the same terminal, but I have never been to Heathrow. I hope this is enough time.
What airlines are you flying?
Heathrow has four terminals.
If you to to this website and plug in your flight information, it will give you step by step instructions:
sas from Copenhagen to London
united airlines from London to Denver
Flight is July 6th.
sas has terminal 2 listed on the ticket. UA shows nothing yet. link provided shows both flights in terminal 2, no gate info, but step in right direction.
I wish we had just a 2.5 hour connection. You’ll do fine, even if it requires changing terminals. In May, we’re looking at over 7 hours in a plastic orange chair, waiting out our connection between Bologna, Italy and the USA at Heathrow Terminal 5.
Once you reach DIA, you’ll land at Concourse A, so it’ll be a relatively quick, train-free trip to Customs and Border Protection. I sure wish the people in Denver were as pleasant as those at Heathrow!
Assuming this is on one ticket you should be fine. Both SAS and United use Terminal 2 at Heathrow.
Cyn- 7 hours is time to pay for lounge access. Or a day-rate at the terminal hotel.
Brian,
Each terminal at Heathrow has cafes, restaurants and stores. There should be plenty there to keep you busy during your wait.
See "Shopping" and "Food and Drink" on this map of Terminal 2:

I kept link in my favorites. Thanks all who replied. I had heard Heathrow was a challenge, do was a little concerned. The flight is on the same ticket, so would think sas and ua would know we're there. I need to travel with a checked bag due to medical equipment, so hope the bag gets to the plane and I don't have to pick it up and recheck it. I wouldn't think I need to go through customs as I'm not leaving the terminal. Does it work the same way in the UK?
You will need to go through security at Heathrow but nothing else if your bags are through checked. Follow the international transfer signs.

Do you have a credit card that has an added benefit of lounge access? If not, maybe look into getting one that has this perk ... can have a high fee but the bonus points and perks might make it worthwhile.
