We have an early morning flight and require a good comfortable hotel - will be flying out of terminal 2.
Can't seem to find any hotels at the airport or ones that offer shuttle service.
Any suggestions

Go to Booking.com, type in Heathrow airport, London and you will find all kinds of hotels. Click on those that interest you and you will see if they provide shuttle service.

There is a shuttle bus service that stops at most of the big hotels near Heathrow. It's the Hotel Hoppa. Here is the link to the website.

It lists all the hotels where it stops and the terminals, schedule, fares, etc. We used it last year (we stayed at the Radisson Edwardian - VERY nice!) and it took just about 15 minutes to Terminal 5. Cost was inexpensive (4 GBP per adult, one-way; up to 2 kids under 15, free), cash (GBP only) or credit card. There is a rack inside for you to put your luggage (up to two medium-sized suitcases & one piece of hand luggage, per person). Very easy!
We could buy our tickets from a kiosk (cash or credit card), change provided, outside our hotel OR from the driver (cash only, no change). Give yourself a little bit of time if you want to use a kiosk, my husband had some difficulty on figuring it out (but, he doesn't like those machines, either!).
